IMPACT ON PEOPLE
Investing in people

We are aware that the real engine of innovation lies in our team's talent and creativity. This year we have put a particular emphasis on developing initiatives that have a direct and significant impact on people, cultivating an environment where innovation is not only encouraged, but also experienced in the day-to-day.

One of this strategy's pillars is the Inspiration Day held in Mexico. This event, with the participation of Renzo Casapía, an expert in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, allowed the organisation to connect with the latest technology trends and understand their applicability in our context. The live interview with Learndat's CEO from Mexico City brought the reality of AI to all areas of ROADIS and generated a debate on how to integrate these technologies into our operations. These initiatives are essential in demystifying technology and showing their tangible value, thus fostering greater internal adoption.

We have also successfully organised the first edition of the "Innovation MBA" internal programme, which has enabled 23 ROADIERS from various geographical areas to delve into the world of innovation, equipping them with practical tools and theoretical knowledge aimed at improving their efficiency and that of their teams. This programme provided participants the possibility of partaking in several master classes delivered by experts from the innovation sector.

We have also held two webinars on AI, co-organising one of them with the IT department. These webinars have enabled the organisation to communicate the importance of understanding both the potential and risks associated with this technology.

IMPACT ON BUSINESS
Implementing initiatives

During this year, 38 active innovation initiatives for the entire organisation have been monitored. We follow a process of continuous improvement and internal communication within the organisation, with the aim of promoting the scaling of the key projects. This is the case of Solar Highway and Project Sunshine.

We have initiated 6 new pilot projects, 3 of which have been successfully implemented throughout the year (ROADIS Corporate Forest, Speed Detector and AI Based cameras to improve tolling process). These new projects have focused on the application of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, artificial vision, machine learning and big data.

We have also held the 5th edition of our Genius Awards, where employees contribute solutions to the challenges we face as a company. This edition brought challenges related to road safety, health and safety and applications with Artificial Intelligence. A total of 52 ideas were received. The winner was the Early Warnings Save Lives initiative, which proposes developing an early warning system for road maintenance workers. In addition, 16 initiatives have been selected to enter the innovation projects funnel, and these will be worked on next year.

IMPACT OF AI
Transforming our company

We are immersed in the era of AI, which is why we have allocated a significant part of our efforts to research and the strategic adoption of this technology. Our goal is to harness the potential of AI with the aim of having a positive impact on the business in the medium term. To that end, we have developed an AI strategic plan based on market analysis, consultations with external experts and an internal assessment of our capabilities and needs.

This strategic plan is structured around three horizons:

• Horizon 1: Establish AI as a new business standard. This includes incorporating AI into cross-cutting processes and daily workflows, starting with Microsoft Copilot and developing new tools.

• Horizon 2: Transformation of the main business with AI. Use cases will be developed to transform key areas of the business, such as data collection and analysis and highway operations, optimising resources and maintenance.

• Horizon 3: AI as an enabler of future disruptions. AI will facilitate new forms of mobility. In this Horizon we will seek inspiration from professionals, promote an environment where we can co-create and imagine the future of our business.

In the last quarter of the year, an MS Copilot adoption program was implemented for eight weeks as part of Horizon 1. This program includes a set of activities for 31 participants, such as training sessions, individual journeys, specific training for executives and ongoing measurement of the impact. The aim is to promote the integration of this key AI tool, maximising efficiency and demonstrating the value it brings to ROADIS and its employees.

In addition, work is carried out on defining AI use cases within Horizons 1 and 2 in close collaboration with the IT department. This includes assessing the needs and opportunities in the different areas of the company in collaboration with the various departments and specialised external collaborators. This process will enable us to prioritise the most relevant initiatives, use the most appropriate AI applications and generate a tangible return for ROADIS.
