COMMITTED TO INNOVATION
Innovation is one of the cornerstones of ROADIS’ culture. Since 2019, we have been promoting a cultural change that will allow us to adopt a new way of doing things and of relating to others.
This commitment to innovation pursues three main objectives:
Aside from the fact that people are the key to any innovation process, another of our objectives is to improve the lives of those around us.

The Innovation team has been working for some time toward materializing ideas and having an impact at ROADIS. Setting in place the challenge-solving skills of our teams to work to find options; we look for solutions together and really listen to each other: this is the way to be creative as a team and to innovate.
This is precisely what we do in the ROADIS INNOVACTION CREW, an international group of professionals who share best practices, lessons learned and market opportunities. The Crew continued its work in 2021, increasing the number of members from 20 to 30.
We want to make innovation one of the pillars of ROADIS' culture. Throughout 2021, initiatives have been put in place to raise awareness of the initiatives being carried out in this area within the organization.

We have also begun to develop our innovation ecosystem by projecting this culture outwards through projects with universities and collaborations with external entities.
In this regard, ROADIS is working to validate the case of use for blockchain technology in the toll collection and transactions sector. This is a pilot project being developed by a consortium with European funding and Indra as our technological partner. The aim of this functionality is to provide operators and concession holders with an even more robust and reliable solution for managing common databases quickly and efficiently, increasing the integrity, transparency, and traceability of the data.
Also, this year, we are collaborating with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) to develop a technology that combines artificial vision and road safety in order to analyze the human factor in traffic accidents and incidents.
The ROADIS Genius Awards initiative launched in 2020 continued in 2021.
The finalist initiatives, in which employees provide solutions to the company's day-to-day challenges, become part of the innovation funnel, where the feasibility of their implementation and integration into ROADIS is studied.
For this edition there were three challenges, with sustainability at the heart of the campaign:
