INNOVATION
INNOVATION AS A FUNDAMENTAL PILLAR IN THE BUSINESS
Innovation is an engine that drives our business into the future, a spark that ignites creativity and transforms the way we work and interact. Since 2019, we have woven innovation into ROADIS' DNA, making it an integral part of our culture and our daily operations. We don't innovate for the sake of innovating; we do it with a clear purpose: to improve people's lives and open new paths to progress. In 2023 we have taken further steps in this direction.
LOCAL AND PARTICIPATIVE INNOVATION
The Innovation area is working to ensure that this philosophy and way of working reaches all corners of the organisation, that ideas materialise and generate impact. In 2023 we are committed to a culture of innovation that is closer to our employees and geographies.
We started the year by celebrating Inspiration Day, our annual event where we inspire ROADIS employees and stakeholders on a variety of topics such as technological advances, sustainability and entrepreneurship. This year we interviewed Ravi Teja, President and CEO of Robosoft, live from India.
We also deployed our InnoX workshops, in the different geographies in which we operate, where participants have worked on different processes: problem discovery, ideation and pitch presentations through a team competition of ideas.
These are examples of our commitment to local and participative innovation. These activities encourage creativity, exchange and collaboration between teams.
NEW INNOVATION PROJECTS
During the year, a total of 8 new innovation initiatives have been approved across the different geographies. These new projects have focused on areas as diverse as the application of new technologies (Artificial Intelligence or metaverse), the relationship with the grantor, road safety and the exploration of new business models.
We also held the 4th edition of the Genius Awards, where employees contribute solutions to the major challenges we face as a company. This year, finalist ideas included initiatives related to tyre reuse, community involvement in plastic recycling and automation of parts operations, lane cutting and employee training. The winning initiative was ROADIS Corporate Forest, which proposes to develop a corporate forest in order to generate a positive environmental impact on the environment in which we operate and on local communities.

ROADIS ENTERS THE AGE OF AI
In 2023, the Innovation department is committed to going further, marking the year with key growth and transformation. We begin our venture into the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) as a leap that will allow us to explore unknown horizons. The cultural transformation that will enable this evolution is equally crucial, so our efforts have focused on fostering a spirit of innovation that permeates every aspect of our company.
Along these lines, we have developed an artificial intelligence course for our employees, training them in the latest AI technologies and applications. In addition, the Innovation department has promoted and approved several AI projects in the Innovation Boards, laying the foundations for a more automated and efficient future.
OPEN INNOVATION
Our commitment to Open Innovation is also central to this journey. During this year, we have taken our first steps to open our doors to external collaboration, developing an ecosystem of start-ups and key collaborators that we expect to consolidate during 2024.
The implementation of artificial intelligence, our focus on local innovation and openness to new collaborations have reinforced our commitment to progress, ensuring that every step on the innovation journey is aligned with our vision and culture, allowing us to continuously improve and adapt to a constantly evolving world.
