PROJECTS

We manage VIABAHIA, one of the main concessions in the Brazilian state of Bahia, Brazil’s second most popular tourist destination after Río de Janeiro, and an important commercial port.

We connect the state from north to south through 681 kilometres of roads, divided between BR-116 and BR-324, two key transport arteries that communicate the main population centres of the state.

  • BR-116

FEIRA DE SANTANA – FRONTERA CON MINAS GERAIS

The BR-116 road forms a freight transport route which crosses the country from Fortaleza to the opposite border parallel to the Atlantic coast with Uruguay.

  • BR-324

    SALVADOR – FEIRA DE SANTANA

The BR-324 highway connects the cities of Salvador de Bahía and Feira de Santana

    • VIABAHIA made a total investment of R$37,889,160.52 over the course of 2023

VIABAHIA made a total investment of R$37,889,160.52 over the course of 2023, earmarked for the implementation of motorway protection and safety systems and for duplication works, in addition to maintenance and recovery works, such as paving, lighting and containment structures, among others.

In April 2023, a Working Group including VIABAHIA, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and the Ministry of Transport was set up to formulate a proposal for a consensual settlement to the VIABAHIA Concession Contract dispute. In November 2023, the proposal was submitted by the ANTT to the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) in the form of a Consensual Settlement Request ("SSC"). We continue to move forward in this process, with the aim of establishing an agreement with the ANTT and being able to increase investments to guarantee the satisfaction of public interests and the essential mobility and safety demands of users.

    • The flow of vehicles on toll roads in the country grew by 6.1% in 2023.

Brazil has 119,227,657 vehicles. The Northeast region, where our motorways are located, is in third place with 21,219,225 vehicles. Of the total number of vehicles on the road in Brazil in December 2023, 51.84% were cars.
